Coulton takes national blind open

Graham Coulton has won the Blind Golf Australia national championship.

Coulton, 61, had net scores of 71 and 72 off a 43 handicap at Rosebud Country Club on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula to secure the win alongside his caddie of 15 years standing, Sue Carpenter.

The New South Welshman is a veteran of blind golf having competed in multiple world championships and won the British Blind Open in 2010.

He is a director of the International Blind Golf Association and has represented Australian in blind golf and cricket.

This year’s Australian Open welcomed a number of promising new players, including Paul McKenzie from Australian Capital Territory, a B3 category player off 19 who won the overall gross and was the net runner-up.
